Nicole Saikalis Bay

Architect, interior designer, consultant, collector and patron, Nicole Saikalis Bay was born in Beirut. After living and working between Beirut, Abu Dhabi, Paris and London, she now lives in Milan, together with her husband and their two children.

Graduating with honors in architecture from the École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Paris UP7, in the late ‘90s she founded Saikalis Architects, specializing in residential projects. In London, she participated in several international competitions for major projects, such as The House of Art and Culture in Beirut.

As part of her professional work for the renovation of apartments and buildings for residential use, over a period of almost two decades she enriched the design and structural aspects with the design of interior details and advised on the choice of works of art. She has thus developed a keen interest for vintage design and contemporary art which she now collects. As a collector, Nicole studies the latest artists, styles and trends, building strong relationships with the best Italian and international art galleries. In turn, she also offers her contribution as project manager, consultant and curator.

Nicole Saikalis Bay is currently a member of the Commissioning Council of the Whitechapel Gallery, the UK's leading publicly controlled gallery for contemporary art. And she is a Donor of the Italian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale Arte 2022, “Storia della Notte e Destino delle Comete” and of the Lyon Biennale 2022
